ABOUT JOE:
Spending his summer days at the Pond with his home-made skimboard, Joe Ware was inspired to give kiting a crack at the age of 15 after watching the local kitesurfers doing some pretty epic jumps and crazy tricks. When one of the kiters gave him a tow on his skimboard (which Joe loved, obviously) and suggested he give kiting a go, there was no hesitation, Joe booked in some lessons with WA SURF and has been a keen kiter ever since.
For Joe, his love of kitesurfing is all about the freedom – the freedom to do what you want out on the water in whatever style of riding you like, all you need is some wind. It’s also the community, the guys and girls out on the water are always there to help each other out, whether that’s with your landing, launching your kite or giving you that inspiration to give something new a try.
A Duotone man, Joe loves all the designs and how they keep improving the gear and making them better. He uses the Duotone Dice SLS as it is quick and responsive while still keeping its power, perfect for doing loops and getting big boosts. The Duotone Whip D-LAB is his go-to board as it is light, quick and agile so great for doing those sharp turns and quick transition - you can flick it into your hand with ease when doing those freestyle tricks and it sticks to your feet when you want it to.
