A very interesting board from Fanatic, just one left at a knockdown price.

This board has a fairly flat nose rocker so it glides on flat water better than anything else it's size and also picks up a swell incredibly early. Once on a wave once you step back, it really performs and you can crank it. Takes a little bit of getting used to and not recommended for short, sharp, beachbreaks.

Just a quick note to let you know that our surf trip was a success.
The 9'0 Fanatic SUP was a hero. First saving us from being bored on smaller days and then, as Jeremy got the hang of it he would take it out on bigger days as well. You might recall that he was a 'surfer' not a 'SUPer'. Well, I can tell you that I spent more time on my surfboard than on the SUP, simply because I couldn't get my hands on it!! He still prefers to surf on big days, but likes to go between the two.
We did go to Lakey Peak at the beginning of the trip, but only surfed there. Later we ended up in Lombok, a place called Ekas. It is the most amazing wave for SUP's, and beginner surfers (like me) and very rarely more than 6 people in the water. We had a ball there, and Jeremy was even taking the SUP out in days well over head and a half high. We met quite a few other SUPers there and everyone who tried the Fanatic was really impressed. She's so light and fast on the wave.
